The people of Gaza reside in a living hell. And the people of Earth created and supported this man-made hell. A place where people are ethnically cleansed and serves as a testing ground for military weapons. A land where greed clouds the moral compass of the oppressor.
So, what are some of the things we have witnessed in Gaza?
Beheaded babies and children. Bodies reduced to ash, charred beyond recognition. Limbs torn off adults and tiny bodies of children. Bodies scattered to bits. The impact of bombs propelling bodies hundreds of feet up in the air. Shooting of medics and ambulances deliberately targeted and buried. Man-made famine.
Horrible, horrible things broadcasted live for the world to see.
Are we living in a “modern”, civilised world?
The only thing “modern” we have seen in this genocide is modern ways of killing and causing new ways of suffering to people.
You would expect the whole world to be enraged at these outrageous and heinous crimes. But, except for a few who have condemned and taken some action, the people in power are silent, even aiding in this genocide.
Silence only helps the oppressor.
Strange times we live in.
So what can an ordinary person do?
How can any sane person go on with their everyday life without losing their mind?
The answer lies in “everyday life”.
We have all heard that you should give money to Palestinians, participate in peaceful protests, raise your voice for Palestinians, and boycott products and services that are against genocide by following the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.
But there is more we can do.
Live diligently.
Live intentionally.
Strive for excellence.
Become so good at what you do that people would pay you millions to work with you. That’s one of the ways you could contribute to humanity.
One day, people with moral consciousness will replace leadership positions. Create products and services that are morally compliant.
Take care of yourself. Have a proper schedule. Sleep on time. Wake up on time. Exercise.
You can only help others if you are strong.
And when hard times hit, think of Gaza.
Thank God that you are not being tested like the people of Gaza have been tested.
Thank Allah again because you are not being tested like the people of Gaza.
So please. Get up. Face your problems.
Never give up. We don’t have that sort of attitude and luxury.
While the people of Gaza are being tested with the loss of food, water, limbs, loved ones, homes, their faith shaken to its very core. Only Allah truly knows the depths of their suffering.
But we, too, are being tested.
Not with scarcity, but with abundance.
The question is: How do we use the very blessings Gaza is being denied?
Do we waste them? Do we take them for granted?
Or do we turn them into tools of service, compassion, and purpose?
Hence, it my request to everyone. Please live your day to day life sincerely.
My message extends to every human being. Muslims. Non-Muslims. Black. White. Doesn’t matter what you are.
Become the best version of yourself for Gaza. For the countless people suffering and oppressed all around the world. Sudan. Congo. Kashmir. Uyghur Muslims in China. For yourself.
How will you stand in front of Allah?
No one knows when and where another tragedy like Gaza.
Gaza represents the past and the future. It shows what the colonial powers did to indigenous people, and it is also serving as a textbook to what future oppressive colonial powers will do.
We all have our own demons. Procrastination. Greed. Addiction.
We all have to try hard to overcome our weaknesses. Become better than yesterday.
Don’t give in to distractions. Use your time wisely.
Fight for justice.
And remember.
When things get hard, think of Gaza.
When things get scary, think of Gaza.
When you feel like giving up, think of Gaza.
Let Gaza be your driving force.
Let people who have gone before us to these atrocities fuel your resolve.
Let the people still standing in Gaza be the reason you keep going.
Never stop working on yourself. Never stop working for the oppressed people.
Even if one child remains in Gaza. Even if one olive tree remains in Gaza.
Wake up for Palestine.
Stand up for Palestine.
Long live Palestine.
And lastly.
Free free Palestine.
